Within the highly critical production environment, the IT consulting and project house QAware from Munich has developed a cloud-native software solution for the automotive industry.
The digitalization process in the automotive industry is inevitably progressing. Openness to new technologies and the associated technical expertise are the cornerstones for the realization of a successful technology transformation. Together with the BMW Group, QAware GmbH has successfully converted a long-standing mainframe application into a cloud-native solution.
In 2017, QAware launched a project together with the BMW Group with the aim of replacing the on-premise software with a modern infrastructure. Amid technically complex challenges and in the midst of an international crisis situation, the first roll-out was completed on schedule in November 2020 under strict quality requirements at the Munich plant. The IT solution has now gone live in numerous plants silently and error-free and supplies the plants daily with the newly calculated parts lists on the basis of which the vehicles are manufactured.
